Epictetus was a Stoic Philosopher that lived approximately c.55-c.135 A.D. Here is a quote I came across I thought interesting…
“What is the first business of one who studies philosophy? To part with self-conceit. For it is impossible for any one to begin to learn what he thinks that he already knows.”

My first inclination was to substitute “philosophy” with “photography” or “wedding photography” and see if the quote still applied. I would argue that it could, as it would with just about any subject you substitute. I know we are taking one line out of an entire chapter, but I suppose that with my simplistic reasoning I find it interesting that Epictetus is telling us to approach everything by first unlearning what we know so we may be open enough to learn that which we desire to learn.
