It was a bitterly cold day off on a hill top in Watertown, Tennessee. I worked on the first of the three days of this music video for Cage the Elephant’s song “Shake Me Down”. If you don’t already know who they are then you must be out of the loop! There sound is a Rock/Punk/Funk mix and have been building great momentum.
I split my time between Gripping and Assistant Camera on this video, shooting on the new RED Camera, RedMX. The scenes shot on the first day were the outdoor forest shots, floating lanterns, and the outdoor night shots. Despite the limited budget on for the 2nd Unit ( the first day) I think it all turned out pretty good considering we had three par cans and lots of car headlights for lighting!
It must have been a sight to see the more than 80 floating lanterns flying off the hill overlooking Watertown! It was a pretty awesome sight from our vantage point. I should also mention a few of the crowd and lantern shots were from a 5DMK2 that ran as a 2nd camera for those critical shots. I love this stuff! Enjoy the Video!
